JUNIOR PRODUCT OWNER

A crucial role in supporting the product management team, working closely with the development team and stakeholders to help deliver product features and improvements. The role involves a blend of business analysis, stakeholder communication, and project management tasks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.      Requirements Gathering:

·         Collaborate with stakeholders (clients, developers, marketing teams) to identify business needs.

·         Conduct interviews, surveys, and workshops.

2.      Documentation:

·         Write clear, detailed, and well-structured requirements documents.

·         Create functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

3.      Analysis and Validation:

·         Analyse business processes and workflows.

·         Ensure requirements align with business goals and technical feasibility.

4.      Stakeholder Communication:

·         Act as a liaison between business teams and technical teams.

·         Facilitate discussions to resolve ambiguities and conflicts.

5.      Project Support:

·         Support development teams during implementation.

·         Review deliverables to ensure they meet specified requirements.

6.      Compliance and Standards:

·         Ensure the solution complies with industry standards and regulations e.g., Accessibility.

7.      Assisting in Product Backlog Management:

·         Help maintain and prioritise the product backlog in line with business goals and customer needs.

·         Assist with writing clear and concise user stories, acceptance criteria, and ensuring they are understood by the development team.

8.      Supporting Sprint Planning and Review:

·         Participate in sprint planning and review meetings, contributing to decision-making on prioritisation and scope.

·         Help track the progress of development tasks and ensure alignment with the overall product vision.

9.      Quality Assurance:

·         Work with quality assurance teams to define and ensure acceptance criteria are met.

·         Support product testing and feedback loops to guarantee that features meet business and customer expectations.

10. Continuous Improvement:

·         Help identify areas for improvement in the product development process and assist in implementing more efficient workflows.

·         Learn from customer feedback, industry trends, and analytics to drive product improvements.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

·         CAN DO attitude with strong attention to detail;

·         Commercial product management of SaaS product;

·         UX and UI experience;

·         Good project management skills;

·         Excellent specification writing;

·         Excellent technical understanding of web and email technologies;

·         Creative problem-solving ability;

·         Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with both technical (development team) and non-technical stakeholders. meet with clients to discuss their requirements or perform training sessions; meet with clients to discuss their requirements or perform training sessions or collect feedback;

·         Ability to create training videos, help guides;

·         Basic Understanding of Agile Methodologies: Familiarity with Scrum or Kanban is essential for working in a typical product development environment. Experience with Jira and Devops.

SALARY:

  • £25,000 to £38,000 per year based on experience.

CAREER PROGRESSION:

  • Junior Product Owners often move on to Product Owner or Senior Product Owner roles after gaining experience. Eventually, they may progress to Product Manager or Head of Product position

·         9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday

·         Role based in our Epsom office

·         The office is in the centre of Epsom, less than 5-minute walk from the main train station and close to local amenities.
